The large numbers of demonstrators first seen on the streets of Tehran to protest the outcome of the presidential election have dwindled to a relative handful in the face of a massive security crackdown. The government is maintaining its hardline stance against the opposition. But, as VOA Senior Analyst Gary Thomas reports, the protests opened some fissures in the ranks of Iran's ruling elite.
