Tasveer terii dil mera behla na sakey gii
Ye terii tarha mujhse toe sharma na sakay gii

Main baat karunga toe ye khamosh rahegii, 
Seenay se laga loonga toe ye kuchh na kahegi. 
Aaraam wo kiya degi jo tardpa na sake gii, 

Aankhein hein ye thehrii huwee chanchal wo nigahein 
Ye haath hain sehmey huwey aur mast wo baahein
Parchaee.n to insaan ke kaam aa na sakey gii

Ein honto.n ko Fayyaz main kuuch keh na sakunga
Is zulf ko maen haath mein bhi ley na sakunga, 
Uljhii huwee raaton ko ye suljha na Sakegii,

Tasweer terii dil mera behla na sakey gii
Ye terii tarha mujhse toe sharma na sake gii

Translation by Hamid:

Your photo cannot soothe my restless heart, my dear 
It will not be bashfull to my touch like you do, I fear. 

Your picture would stay quiet when I wish to converse
It will not respond to loving gesture or my cosy embrace  
It cannot calm my nerves, if it cant stir my passion with loving caress. 

The eyes in the photo are still whereas your sight is playful  
Hands in the picture are withdrawn while your arms are jovial 
Your physical presence can only satisfy me, your shadow is futile

O! Fayyaz, these lovely lips; Alas! Unresponsive to my touch
The silky tresses of my sweetheart I cant feel, I regret so much  
My nights are in disarray & in tangle because my beloved is apart. 

Your photo cannot soothe my restless heart, my dear 
It will not be bashfull to my touch like you do, I fear.
