Students in Riviera Beach seek to improve STEM’s talent pipeline

Nested inside Riviera Beach Preparatory and Achievement Academy is a 6-week STEM summer camp filled with 30-some-odd future pioneers and entrepreneurs—a small cadre of promising students from Inner City Youth “Getting There,” a community-based nonprofit, who partnered with AT&T NETwork Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to provide a glimmer of hope for STEM inclusion. For local students, this is a surefire way to fight the all-too-familiar summer slide, a term used to describe the tendency for some students’ to experience academic decline ( or “slide”) over the long summer.
