In this part, we enter the card tournament and win. It turns out the card champion was actually Regent Cid! We defeat him in a nice game of cards though. Immediately after the tournament, we learn that someone terrible is happening in Alexandria. We immediately head there on Cid's new airship. Kuja has decided to invade Alexandria, and he summons Bahamut to destroy the town. During the rampage, Eiko's stone begins to glow, and she jumps off the airship. Somehow, she lands right next to Garnet and floats in front of her. Both of them summon the most powerful eidolon, Alexander. Alexander completely destroys Bahamut, but Kuja has more tricks up his sleeve. He summons that giant Eye in the sky again which will apparently allow him to enslave Alexander. But then a new character is introduced! Some sinister looking man named Garland who says he has had enough of what Kuja is doing, as well as what... Zidane is doing? How does Garland know Zidane? Who is Garland anyway? Apparently Kuja doesn't like him because this is the first time we have actually seen Kuja be upset.

I'm not too knowledgeable on the card game. I know you play the cards in certain spots. If your arrow points to a spot on their card without an arrow, you take their card and vice versa. If your arrow points to a spot on their card with an arrow, the cards go into battle. I don't really know how the game determines who wins, but it has something to do with the letters/numbers on the card. Anyway, you don't have to win the tournament, but you won't win the prize if you don't.
