ABOUT - BZX WAVE 4 -The Experiment 

The Boogiezone Xchange film project otherwise known as "The Experiment" is an idea conceived by Elm Pizarro - Creator and Chief Brainchild of Boogizone INC. The concept behind this video is to explore the idea of creativity - what influences it, what inspires it, what drivess it, directs it, and ultimately how many different ways can creativity be interpreted, translated, and perceived on a multitude of levels. The vantage point of the creator, the director, the music producer, the choreographer, the dancer, and the general audience - are very different, yet they influcence each other at the same time.

The project began with an idea, there was little or no direction offered to Jaffar Smith and the Beatsmiths - the request was that they create music freely - be themselves and to share 5 different tracks that they produce exclusively for Boogiezone Xchange.

The second step was to select 7 choreographers to interpret the music and choreograph - again freely - and according to the choreographers own style and mood. No real paramaters, other than to see what they come up with.

From there, the choreography was set on our exchange students who traveled to Boogiezone Utopia from all corners of the globe. Some of these dancers have never experienced being taught by any of these choreographers before, let alone dance with one another for a short term project. Again the curiosity lay within the translation. How would each dancer "interpret" the choreographers interpretation of the music.

Next, once the dancers were rehearsed and ready to film, we invited Snowglobe Perspective director Isaiah Masters to create a short dance film over night!
