Do our dreams have meaning?

I wanted to discuss a recurring dream I have had before two major life events, and by analyzing this can we determine if our dreams have a meaning to them? Are our recurring dreams trying to tell us something? I think yes, please tell me your experiences below. My dream is that I am driving up what looks like the Delaware Memorial Bridge, and as I am driving up it the bridge starts getting steeper and steeper. Eventually the bridge gets so steep either one of two things happen. I start accelerating to maintain the forward movement and eventually when going straight up I launch off the end of the bridge. Once I start descending from the launch I wake up. The other version of the same dream is the bridge gets too steep, and my car can't keep going up and it starts falling backwards. Once I am in free fall going down I wake up. Both times this dream took place for weeks on end right before a major life event took place for me. In both cases it was the end of something major in my life. As soon as that major event took place the dream stopped immediately. Does this mean my subconscious was telling me I had taken the road as far as it could go, reached the top of the road and was at it's end? That is how I interpret it, let me know what you think?
