Zimbabwe opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai said he will abandon power sharing talks with President Robert Mugabe's ZANU PF party unless critics of the Mugabe government are released from jail or charged with a crime. The comments on Friday, December 19th came as President Robert Mubage's party said he has invited Tsvangirai and faction leader Arthur Mutambara to be sworn in to a unity government. The impasse coincides with Zimbabwe's struggle to deal with a cholera outbreak and a massive food shortage. VOA's Chris Simkins has more on the story.
