How to Make a Signal FIRE in the Boreal Forest

Knowing how to make a good signal fire may come in handy. This was done in a training environment and the fire hazard was low during winter. This method consists of building a platform, with a good tinder bundle and surrounded with a bunch of evergreen boughs prompted on a tripod. The idea is to generate enough heat with the tinder to make the boughs smoke and the heat elevates and brings the smoke over the treeline. This signal fire was 7 feet high and took 2 hours for 3 people. The same set up can be done smaller or bigger.
