National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management, Chennai  is ready with the draft Coastal zone Management Plan and will submit it to the National Green Tribunal before 9th May. The draft plan will be later kept open for public opinion and suggestions for 50 days. 


   According to sources ,The CRZ II areas have been demarcated as per the municipal boundaries map of Directorate of Survey and Land Record provided to NCSCM by GCZM. New CRZ areas proposed for villages such as Calangute, Candolim,
Canacona, Taliegao and other ODP areas will be demarcated as CRZ II. It will give relief to the pending cases of CRZ violations. It will also help fisher folk to develop their houses and business establishments. 


    Sources also informed that the department of fisheries, Tourism, WRD , GSIDC PWD, TCP have submitted the data on existing or completed projects and facilities which will be marked on the Coastal Zone Management Plan. Draft on the proposed activities or projects submitted by departments will be included in the draft CZMP notification as policy statements pertaining to the various proposed activities or projects. 

     Draft plan also include fish landing centres and fishing villages for development of fisher folk. The departments of Mines, Municipal Administration  and Captain of Ports has also provided data of various projects which comes into jurisdiction of CRZ.

     The draft Goa CZMP notification 2017, will be published in the GCZMA website. In the first stage draft plan will be sent to various departments for corrections. Presentation will be given to Chief minister and concerns MLAs. Later it will be kept open for public suggestions.

 Draft will be finalised by GCZMA and will send to NCZMA for approval.
