Yesterday morning I was lucky to get this video just in time. I had gone for a trip to Lohagad Fort with my friends. In the morning we boarded the Mumbai Pune Indrayani Express and got off at Lonavala. From Lonavala we took the 08:20 am Lonavala Pune local train. We got off at the next station Malavali. I knew the Pragati Express from Pune to Mumbai was due any moment. So I immediately raced across the foot over bridge and came down on the other side. Just in time, as you can still see my local train leaving the station, within a few seconds comes the Pune Mumbai Pragati Express. This train has been recently upgraded to an Utkrisht Rake, which are renovated coaches attractive from both outside and inside. The locomotive hauling the train was a Kalyan WCAM-2 (21874). This chocolate brown colour matches well with the rake. The train was speeding furiously, 14 coaches plus the locomotive passed my camera in just 11 seconds, which makes the speed to be somewhere between 105-110 kmph. The locopilot also honked nicely using twin tones as he approached the station. It was a great day to begin the first day of the last month of the year!
