(11 Dec 1986) SP15128606 ISRAEL BASKETBALL European Cup. Italian team Tracer Milano defeat Maccabi Tel Aviv 97-79 points. The Italian team Tracer Napoli produced an upset to knock Maccabi Tel Aviv out of this season's European Basketball Cup on Thursday (11/12). Milano beat Maccabi by 97 points to 79 in Tel Aviv, a rare defeat for one of Europe's strongest sides. Milano made a fine start, leading by eleven points to nil after just four minutes. At half-time the score was 51 to 37 in the Italians' favour. Despite a second half rally by Maccabi, when they narrowed the gap to trail by 43 to 53, Milano hung on for victory. Outstanding player for the Italian visitors was Roberto Premier (10) with thirty points to his credit. Supporting him was former NBA player Bob Macadoo with 26 points. For Maccabi their top player was Kevin Magee with 27 points.
