United Nations, 7 April 2009 - Daily Briefing by the Office of the Spokesperson for the Secretary General. Today is World Health Day and this year, the theme of the observance is "Save lives. Make hospitals safe in emergencies".  
We cannot prevent all disasters.  But we can work together to ensure that when they occur, hospitals and other health facilities are ready and able to save lives said the Secretary-General in a message to mark the day.
