One summer, when Michael Nwabufo visited a small village in Nigeria, he was shocked at the horrors some of the laborers went through. Cleaners treated unfairly, house helps unpaid for months on end, and he realized that these people had taken these jobs of their own volition. In his talk, Michael will inquire about forced laborers and discuss the issue of contemporary slavery. Michael Nwabufo is a 16 year old international student from Nigeria, although he was born in the States and has also lived in Tunisia and The Ivory Coast. A boarder at Ashbury, with a passion for sports and world affairs, he will be presenting on the modern problem of forced labour, the challenges involved and how we can overcome this age old predicament. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
