Today most people reject what the word of God says about water baptism. Perhaps then what the early fathers who lived within two generations of the Apostles, will then convince you of the importance of water baptism. "This means, that we indeed descend into the water full of sins and defilement, but come up, bearing fruit in our heart, having the fear [of God] and trust in Jesus in our spirit." Barnabas (A.D. 70-130) "We descended into the water and received remission of our former sins." Hermas (A.D. 150) "Baptism is alone able to purify those who have repented and may obtain in the water the remission of sins formerly committed." Justin Martyr (A.D. 165)
