I take a look at 2 budget priced tools from Roxon. One is a multi tool and the other is a locking knife with gigantic pair of quality scissors hidden under its belt.
Model CM1349 is the Roxon Spark Multitool Plier, 14-in-1
Model S501 is the knife/scissor combo.
The multi tool has a 2Cr13 steel knife blade and retails for around $25 USD
The knife has a 5Cr15 steel blade and retails for around $19 USD.
The knife blade is a higher quality steel than the steel in the multi tool knife blade.
Roxon is a Chinese knife, tool and adventure gear focused company that has had a few really good pieces and a few duds. If we compare companies, they are trying to be a Ganzo type of company, but they have a ways to go. Ganzo is, in my opinion, far more reliable in their quality control and I have rarely received anything from them that has not surprised me and exceeded my expectations. Generally I do have a bias for Chinese products because there’s a fine line between decent goods and gray market goods. Gray market goods are goods that you’d find in a 99 cent store. As you go up the production quality ladder, the best of the best from that area usually comes from Taiwan, which was under Chinese control until they achieved independence. They are capitalists as opposed to the communist Chinese. But China is a mixed bag and is not a true/true communist type country the way the old USSR used to be. China seeks to dominate markets by flooding them with low priced goods and often blatant copies of things in an attempt to wrest economic control from their global competitors.
