WPAFB -- Wright-Patterson Air Force Base personnel have spent this week training for different disaster situations. On Thursday, the training scenario centered around a tornado touching down and knocking over a bus, injuring 54 people.We've learned from recent events like the Boston Marathon bombings that it's important to practice, routinely practice, emergency procedures and operations in order to maintain a high degree of readiness for our emergency response personnel, WPAFB Deputy Fire Chief Tracy Young told us.Despite budget and sequester cuts, base officials say safety is a top priority. There will be these types of exercises at the base throughout the year.
