In July 2011, I drove to Baring, Missouri in hopes of seeing Amtrak's Phase I heritage unit, #156, on the eastbound Southwest Chief. I'd heard that the engine didn't have an ATS shoe, so I assumed it would be the second unit. I was quite surprised to see that IT was the leader! This was the second time I'd seen this engine, after seeing in on the Zephyr a couple months ago. As if this wasn't enough, there was even a dome car on the end of the train, Rail Ventures' "Bella Vista". What a train! At the end of the video, you can hear me saying "I don't believe it..." It took a while for what I'd just seen to sink in!
