Women Affairs Minister Canvasses For President Jonathan's Re Election

The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development Hajiya Zainab Maina has called on women to vote and re-elect President Goodluck Jonathan to consolidate on their democratic gains, that include thirty-five percent affirmative action and women empowerment. She was speaking during a town hall meeting with women inYola Adamawa state. She assured them of the present government’s effort in tackling insurgency and its commitment to better the lots of women. Hajiya Zainab Maina noted that for the first time, females were admitted into the Nigerian Defence Academy while women were given more voices in the Goodluck Jonathan’s administration. In the areas of the economy, she adds that not only were there over seventy-seven women skill acquisition centres but the provision of soft loans. The Governor of Adamawa Bala James Ngilari pledged more outstanding developmental programmes with the PDP led Government while other speakers re-echoed gains of the Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.
