He revolutionized the natural sciences and was enormously influential over society and politics. The British naturalist Charles Robert Darwin would have been 200 years old on February 12th. In Germany,the celebrations include an exhibition at the Schirn art gallery in Frankfurt,called 'Art and the Search for Origins'. The exhibition is the first to focus on the implications of Darwin's revolutionary work for the fine arts. ARTS.21 examines evolution on the canvas.
