One year,one piece from 1949 until today. An attempt to tell the story of the German Federal Republic through its 60 most important artworks. Pieces by Georg Baselitz,Joseph Beuys,Jörg Immendorff and Gerhard Richter amongst others. But is the idea behind the exhibition pretty cool or merely a bit embarrassing? One of the criticisms is the absence of art from Communist East Germany. ARTS.21 takes a brisk canter through 60 years of Federal German art.
