Man mimics nature when using fire as a land management tool. He does this with controlled burning and prescribed fire. A prescription is a planning document with very specific objectives in mind.  Prescribed fire objectives include fuel load reduction or changing vegetation structure or composition to support waterfowl, antelope, lesser prairie chickens, or Houston toads.
