The Ice Cream Boat is a family operated business located in Cape Cod Massachusetts. They are dedicated to serving hungry boaters and beach goers all summer long.... but have decided to try their luck in the winter.

"The Ice Cream Boat" was founded in July of 2008 and has since been serving the three bay area of Cotuit, MA. When I was 16, my Aunt and I often talked about how great it would be to sell ice cream from a boat, and eventually I decided that it was worth investing in the idea. Of course at 16, my first attempt at constructing a business, even as simple as this one, was not without flaws. The first model was fitted with K-Mart coolers packed with dry ice, and as some of you may remember, the ice cream was so cold that your tongue would stick to it. Since then, the boat has undergone some serious improvements. Currently we have a 350 pound "cold plate freezer" installed, which is capable of holding around 700 ice cream bars. That, along with the aesthetic improvements of a sun canopy, a hanging menu board, and a spiffy paint job, has put The Ice Cream Boat in better shape than ever.

My brother, Tim, has been with me since the first time the boat touched the water, and the business would be non-existent without his constant enthusiasm and help. At 12 years old he obtained his boating license and he has been driving and selling ice cream ever since. 

My sister Rae joined the business last year as our bookkeeper and a part time deck hand.

Our small, but friendly staff is dedicated to serving refreshing ice cream directly to wherever you are on the water, boat, beach, dock, etc. We do our best to carry items that are in popular demand, but if there is a product that you feel we are leaving out, please let us know.
