Last week, Ukraine's government began military operations to confront aggressive and well organized pro-Russian militants in the eastern part of the country. In an increasingly tense and fast changing situation, how will Ukraine's leadership navigate this crisis? On April 22, the Council held a Google Hangout with Ukrainian Security Service Chairman Valentyn Nalyvaychenko for an overview of the government's strategy in the near term and plans for dealing with a chaotic situation. A former opposition Member of Parliament, Nalyvaychenko has previously served as SBU head and as Ambassador to Belarus and Deputy Foreign Minister. www.AtlanticCouncil.org/Ukraine
