After working in the art industry for more than a decade all over the world, Ingrid LaFleur decided to return home and open Maison LaFleur. She began her academic studies with a B.A. in Art History from Spelman College and went on to pursue her M.A. from New York University with a concentration in Museum Studies. With over a decade of curatorial and arts administrative experience to her credit, she has worked with artists and arts organizations in New York, Detroit, Nairobi, Paris, Johannesburg and a host of other cities. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations) Learn more about TEDxDetroit at http://TEDxDetroit.com
