Price of Bitcoin $3,434.51 as of $8.48am EDT

On Saturday, we saw Bitcoin drop to a new 2018 low, falling under $3,200. The last time we saw it at around this level was in August 2017. 

Bitcoin is down 83% since this day last year when we saw Bitcoin hit an all-time high of well over $19,600. Today Bitcoin is over $2,280. Today we saw the total crypto market cap fall to $104 billion. On Saturday markets dropped to their lowest levels of 2018 at just over $100 billion. 

On Friday U.S. President Donald Trump chose Mick Mulvaney as the new Acting White House Chief of Staff. 

Mulvaney is apparently a big fan of gold and bitcoin and has said in the past that  Bitcoin could not be "manipulated" by the government.
