Sagat lost against Ryu in the World Warrior tournament. His chest was scared when Ryu hit him with a powerful Metsu Shoryuken. Ensuing his defeat, Sagat swore vengeance on Ryu.

Since then, he created a move that would counter Ryu's and named it the Tiger Blow. He wishes a rematch and will stop at nothing until he finds and defeats Ryu.
