This video is in two parts. The first part of this project is just raw audio and video, unedited apart from the crop and the audio is straight from a Rode SVM mounted on my Canon HG10.

The Canon was set to night mode to reduce gain, but as you can tell its still very dark and underexposed. The Rode was set to -10b as it was picking up a fridge rumble from the bar area. But the sound is still pretty good although a bit flat, but this was down to the acoustics of the room and not the musicians who were rather good.

The second part of this project is the edited part. I only used colour balance ,contrast and saturation, just to remove some shadows and give the faces some detail, but this makes the video, in my opinion a bit colourless. I tried adjusting the saturation but, didnt want to spend too much time on this as this would have ended up more pixelated and with HD its very sensitive to any kind of editing.

The audio was taken from the original footage and edited in Logic Studio, as I am more familiar with this. I only really gave this some EQ, just to give the bass a bit more depth and the just a bit of top end for some brightness. a little reverb was added to give the whole thing that great jazz sound but not to over do it. You may have to listen on Headphones to really appreciate the sound and the quality, unless you have a studio set up with nearfield monitors.

As usual tell me what you think, and Enjoy the rest of the Easter bank holiday.
