Phil Hessler is the film producer of this gripping exploration into the life of a young man from Uganda. Brolin Mawejje seized an opportunity to come to America at the age of 12. He witnessed first hand the struggles and tragedies he faced in his early years in America, and five years ago moved to Jackson Hole with the Hessler family. Nearly a decade later, he finds himself in Salt Lake City, Utah; studying toward a doctorate in Neuro-Oncology at Westminster College and training to represent Uganda in the 2018 Winter Olympics. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
