This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Cristina discusses how we can enable children to develop their minds and learn new skills without being held down by convention and boredom. It's not about limiting them but about challenging them to go beyond normal expectations. Cristina is the founder and CEO of ThoughtBox, an award winning company using technology and "Gameful Learning" to develop educational experiences, which engage young segments. Previously she was part of the New Ventures & Innovation Group in Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in charge of R&D and designing new educational experiences that utilize the capabilities of new technology to the fullest. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
