Obviously the hardest part of this puzzle was figuring out how to become small Mario with the spike shellmet. I played around with a few ideas such as trying to get crushed by the launcher at the beginning, or somehow activating the P-Switch before getting the shellmet. After some tinkering, I figured out that you can get crushed between the winged Rocky Wrench and the P-Switch. The rest of of the puzzle was fairly straightforward.
