HUNTS POINT, Bronx — Shortly after midnight, on a torrentially rainy Friday, December 21, 2018, NYPD and EMS responded to a rear-end collision between a Mini Cooper and a tractor-trailer.  The driver of the Mini had to be extricated from the vehicle, which was wedged beneath the driver’s side rear of the truck.  The driver of the Mini sustained unknown injuries but was transported to a local hospital by NYPD escort.  The driver of the tractor-trailer did not suffer any injuries and, at the time of this reporting, was not cited for any motor vehicle violations.  The accident occurred on rain-slick roads.  Traffic on the westbound Bruckner was complete stopped while the Mini was extricated from beneath the tractor-trailer. | Video Journalist: Chris Cyphers
