My friends Tony and Hilary Jay performed this song beautifully at our Tuesday night session this week and as it is 100 years since the start of WWI I thought it apt to include it along with the other songs I am at present uploading relating to that conflict.
Written by Harvey Andrews, the song tells of an old lady's memories of her young lover who left to fight in France at The Somme and never returned.
