Old footage from late '80s - early '90s of Ben Alameda's 1967 Mustang coupe hitting 10.9 at 122mph quarter miles. #MuscleCarTimeMachine Powered by 351W with ‘69 heads with 1.94 x 1.625 valves. Manley cams which was [email protected] with a lift of 540 which was big in those days, and pistons are stock flat tops with HD truck 351 rods with the football head rod bolts! lol Champ Converter if I remember correctly was 4500 stall FMX cast iron case transmission. 4.10 on the rear with a then experimental NOS plate system displacing 125-150 HP plate. Ben varied the length of the nitrous solenoid to tailor the hit off the line the farther away the softer the hit. NOS Mike Thermos and Dale Vaznajian basically gave Ben the nitrous plate almost for nothing! Traction bars where an extended type wherein I inserted an aluminum piece and extended the arm way past the regular contact point near the front eye of the springs. Mine extended about 14inches past that to a bolted on plate at the floor pan. Ben ran a VW Scirocco radiator eventually before he sold the car to Coast High Performance as their factory racecar to tests stroker kits back in the day!
