The US hopes to see "major disarmament" by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) by the end of 2020, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Wednesday from the Republic of Korea (ROK), a day after the historic summit between US President Donald Trump and DPRK leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore. Trump and Kim pledged in a joint statement after their meeting to work towards the "complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula," without offering details on how to achieve the goal.
