The new pop idol band BNK48 (franchise of the AKB48 Japanese group) took the internet by the storm in the past few weeks. If you were in Thailand, you probably have heard the song "Fortune Cookie" and practically see their stories appear everywhere in the Facebook's newsfeed. That's why we are taking a look at how some of Thai people think about Otaku. Otaku is the Japanese term used to describe people who have an obsession with anime or manga (in Thai, Otaku pretty much refer to BNK48 fan club). The interview was conducted at Ubon Ratchathani night market near Thung Sri Maung Public Park. I live in Ubon Ratchathani and this video is a part of my Thailand on X (Interview) series.
