Veterans receive French Legion of Honour

Nineteen World War II veterans received the French Legion of Honour from the French Ambassador, Nicolas Chapuis, at the French embassy in Ottawa Tuesday (Nov. 10, 2015). The French Legion of Honour is France's highest military honour and the veterans here are amongst 1,000 Canadians who will receive the medal by the end of this year. There were 21 medals at the reception for local veterans. However, one gentleman was in hospital and another, George Bova, passed away this week.
