Watch the old Veritable Quandary restaurant building get torn down. Located on SW 1st Ave (between Madison and Jefferson). The Veritable Quandary opened in 1971 on the west end of the Hawthorne Bridge. The popular downtown Portland restaurant and bar closed after owner Dennis King sold the century-old building to Multnomah County. The County plans to build a new courthouse adjacent to the Hawthorne Bridge.
