Arizona 360 looks at the approach taken by two different organizations to protect people from an attack at what are commonly considered "soft targets": churches and schools. In the wake of the church shooting in Sutherland Spring, Texas last year, the insurance group Landmark Protection created a new workshop that addresses church security. At a recent session in Marana, instructors explained what steps congregations can take to deter violence in the first place. The Tanque Verde Unified School District teamed up with ICSAVE, a nonprofit made up of volunteer first responders in Southern Arizona, to provide free tourniquet training to all of its faculty and staff. Arizona 360 observed a course offered at Tanque Verde Elementary School.
