Read More at .. http://goo.gl/g4TeS4 DireTube News Lucy to be exhibited in Gondar A well known hominid fossil, Lucy, is to be exhibited at a cultural festival in Gondar. Lucy will be shown starting from January 15 to 19, 2015 at the historical Ras Gimb building.

The cultural festival is to be celebrated for the fifth time this year. The festival is celebrated in connection with the Ethiopian epiphany ‘Timket’.

The historical Ras Gimb building was built by King Fasil for his General Ras Woldegiorgis.

The famous Ras Micheal Sihul is known to have resided in this building for decades. The building has also been used as a command center by a Fascist General for Northern Ethiopia at the time of Italian invasion. At the time of Emperor Hailesellasie the building was used as a palace for the Emperor and in the Derg regime it was used as a torture chamber by the infamous Melaku Tefera.
