Cornell forest entomologist Mark Whitmore explains the devastating effect on our forests that the approaching emerald ash borer, an invasive insect from Asia, will have as it spreads in New York State. At a workshop held by the Cayuga Lake Watershed Network in Six Mile Creek Natural Area in the City of Ithaca, NY, Whitmore describes how he recommends we respond over the long term with the hope of returning ash to our landscape.
