She made her acting debut with the movie Dangal in 2016. She did her 10th from St. Paul's International Academy Srinagar and scored 92 percent in Board examinations. She won National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement by Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India. Prior to Hindi films, she has acted in two television commercials. She was the Youth Ambassador for 11th edition of Bengaluru Midnight Marathon in 2017. Now she is in 11th grade studying Humanities in Jammu’s Heritage School. Zaira felt sad that she had to sacrifice her hair for her role in Dangal. She plays guitar very well.
