My Best Friend Johnny, Tom.I feel the compelled to produce this video, a lot of time gas gone by.  July 4th. is my daughter's birthday she'll be 47 years old. We always partied and drank a lot   As a boy with my friends we all would and drink and then some.  Any event became a time for me to drink. As time went by I continued to drink even as my childhood friends started dropping off, I continued. I became a drinker who drank alone. I never drank in my home. But not long after I started that also, drinking in my home, now there were arguments. Long story short -everything bad that happened to me Alcohol was involved in all of them. I would wake up at times and suddenly I looked in the mirror there I was staring at someone who was brutishly bruised beaten. It left a a sunk-in feeling in my gut.  I couldn't remember a thing, now I am dealing with total blackouts. These moments happened frequently, I woke up, and just tried to think something told me to look out the bedroom window, my car was smashed up bad it needed a hood and a left fender. I still had the thought process working though I thought thank God I didn't hit someone. This went on for years and years...   I decided on my own to seek out help with different agency's pharmacologist. I went for years. But I would say just tonight, and the next thing I know I don't remember that night. A friend said are you nuts? you took on a gang of bikers in the bar last night, that would account for the biggest black eye I ever had. I started saying when I woke I instead started saying when I came to.  When I went to bed to sleep, I started saying when I passed out. A fifth a day with beers and what ever else came. I never played with drugs never...What I am leading up to is this, my best friend was my dog Johnny, he was almost 14 years old. I would come home raise my voice and he put his head down tail between his legs a gently disappeared. I wasn't even yelling at him. So I went to find him talked nice to him and he was eagerly licking my face and wagging his tail, I would say come-on lets go get a treat. Many times this happened. It wasn't long after that he became very ill, he could hardly walk couldn't hold his food down and much more. He had his share of operations believe me when I say that. People said to me he was the million dollar dog. This time when I drove him to the vets in New Jersey I felt he wasn't coming home with me, I had a sick feeling. My wife and I took him, they immediately put an IV in him on his leg to comfort him, I could feel his head on my left shoulder as he became more relaxed. His left ear is right now near my mouth and I couldn't stopped whispering to him in his ear so many times telling him I love him. One of the doctors said Tom its time we put the Needle in his IV,  I couldn't for the life of me believe that in a few moments he would be gone. I asked the doctor to wait, I whispered in his ear, Johnny Something Good Has To Come Out Of Today.  This is what I said,  (  Johnny I swear to God I will never drink another drop of alcohol after today ). The doctor did what he had to and I had all his weight on my shoulder, they had to keep asking me to let go. That days date was  January 20th. 2007. I am into my eleventh year January 20th.2018 with out a drop of alcohol, no withdraws, and not one bad incident. All my pass word include his name in some sort of fashion. He is still with me. There will be those who may think of this of trash and then some I hope a story that may be somehow could help them in someway. The following video was made not long after his departure. He is where we are all going.
