It's difficult to fix the external hard disk drive when it is inside the case of removable media. If the hard disk is out of warranty you can disassemble it and take out the hard disk drive and connect to desktop computer as secondary hard disk. The raw error of this hard disk drive are corrected by connecting to another computer. The operating system I've connect the hard drive is Windows 7. The Windows detect the disk drive is in trouble after powering on, then a chkdsk automatically scan my drive and fix the raw error.Sometimes it takes 3 to 5 tries (restart) before the Windows operating system able to detect the error. Note: Not all error can be fix by doing this. Most of the time the thing I do to this error is formatting the drive. But the outcome is, I couldn't recover those save files on the drive, unless I'm using another program to recover it.
