Sofia Wingren joined as CEO of the progressive learning institute Hyper Island in October 2016. Founded in Sweden in 1996, the Hyper Island Group today offers higher education, higher vocational education and progress consulting services for government, organizations and businesses worldwide. With offices and schools in Sweden, the UK, the US, Singapore and Brazil and more than 20,000 alumni around the world, the Hyper Island network, once dubbed “Digital Harvard” by CNN, continues to have impact on the space where humans meet tech.
Wingren has a long background from another successful Swedish educational export, EF Education First, where she held various posts internationally, first based out of Asia and later from headquarters in Switzerland. She also worked within media and entertainment at amongst others the MTG Group, and holds a degree from the Stockholm School of Economics.
