Second hike of the day, more appropriately a short walk. Little Fall Branch Falls is located in the Harmon Den Wildlife Management Area of Pisgah National Forest. The trail is at the gate on Fall Branch Rd, beside the Cold Springs Picnic Area and Harmon Den Horse Camp. You'll cross Little Fall Branch when you pass through the gate, and then immediately take a left on a usage path that hugs the stream. Little Fall Branch is very tiny, and it seems impossible that an impressive waterfall would be located on this watercourse. The waterfall is ~40 feet high and hemmed in by a cove of moss-covered cliffs. It would be more spectacular in the summer after rain when everything is really green. If you're hiking in the Harmon Den region this is definitely worth a quick stop. Hike was 0.6 miles in 23 minutes.
