This is a film I made of the Teco Power Plant Manatee Viewing platform in Apollo Beach Florida December 3, 2011. Manatees come to this area in the winter because when the gulf water temperature goes down below 70 degreeze the power plants water supply that cools down the generators are very warm in the 80"s and 90"s and is safe for the Manatees. They stay there from November till April when the gulf temps start rising back into warmer conditions. At the end of this video I give you information such as address and phone numbers to the viewing center. Parking and Admission is always free.
