To effectively prevent a large number of the 5.6 million yearly national traffic crashes, Yiem Sunbhanich proposes that innovative solutions can come from analyzing the comprehensive crash data, not just the fatal crash data which account for only 0.5% of the total crashes.

Yiem combines the use of increasingly available crash data from various states with analytics to create insights and other foundational content that will foster future road safety innovations.

Examples of potential applications from the insights are safe route navigation to reduce crash risk exposure for drivers and location-based auto insurance to improve accuracy in crash risk assessment & pricing for insurance industry.

Yiem Sunbhanich is a co-founder and CEO of TNEDICCA™. Prior to co-founding TNEDICCA™, Yiem spent 14 years analyzing data and leading analytics team in the Information Service, Insurance, and Automotive industries. The essence of his roles and responsibilities has been around helping companies to more effectively utilize the available data to make informed decisions and to take appropriate actions.
