The video doesn't do it justice. She's a beauty and she's loud, louder than it seems from the video. You can hear my nephew mention it at the end when it's taxiing back to us (he's also the one shouting "Yay bomber! Go bomber!). It was a beautiful clear day, slightly windy but excellent for flying. I envy everyone who had the chance to fly in her that day. I will one day fly in one of these beauties. It's on my bucket list. It's my favorite plane of all time. Big, beautiful and she could take a beating like no other and still make it back. This particular B-17 never saw action, as she was built in 1944. Someone there mentioned she was originally sold for about $700. Can you believe that? Yeah it took way more to restore her and make her flyable for today, but $700 for a B-17? Wow. I think I'll buy me one or two :) (another thing that impressed me was the amount of rivets. Seriously, it looks like it would have taken forever to build one of these, but we banged them out like nothing. Greatest generation indeed.)
