If a person is over weight, the first step in treating snoring is to reduce the weight. Even a reduction of around two kilograms helps in treating snoring.. nnIf the snoring is due to the nose, then could be because of septile deviation. Septum is the structure which separates the nose into left and right nostrils. If it is grossly deviated, surgery is the only way to treat this. But there are some limitations to laser surgery, not everyone is a candidate for that.. nnIf required, turbinites of the nose have to be corrected. Turbinites and structures at the sides of the nose and help in breathing, helps in keeping out the dust and bacteria and also modulating the temperature of the air that you breathe. You might have frequent cold, but never frequent asthma or a chest infection, thanks to turbinates, but when they swell, they lose their function. The way to manage will be medications. If medications and nose drops don't work, then Turbinoplasty is the only cure.nTurbinoplasty can be done with a laser or with a new device known as cobulator. With a cobulator, the healing is going to be faster.. nnCaution has to be taken to ensure that the procedure is overdone and the patient still has a nose block even thought the nose is roomy and a syndrome known as empty nose syndrome does not come. . nnIf it is going to be in the throat, it will be due to an elongated uvula or the small tongue that is hanging down from your mouth, it could be because of a palate, the hard and the soft palate. The procedure s called Laser Assisted Uvulopalatoplasty..
