Future, low-energy hyperscale computing systems will combine many hundreds or thousands of processor cores at an extremely high density beyond what is achievable today. Many of these systems will be built using ARM-powered processors, leveraging the kind of system-on-chip integration seen in the mobile computing space, to combine system-level features such as networking, storage, and I/O controllers onto the main processor chip. Red Hat is actively involved in research and development of next-generation hyperscale computing platforms and in communities such as the Fedora ARM Project.
